most of your garden will be going to sleep for the winter now we have had the first frosts of the year it might be time to have a pick of your sprouts they need a bit of frost to give them the taste
next if you dig your plot over and leave it for the winter let the frost do its work
give your compost bins a turn over so come the spring you might have some good compost
have you got any good tips for the gardener who might be starting his or her garden off ready for the spring
by now you should have your bulbs planted but its still not to late they will catch up
now is the time to get the last of your mint chop it up and mix with vinegar that should last all winter
now might be a good time to give your greenhouse a good clean out I use jays
if your putting your gardening tools away give them a good clean and a smear of oil
its also a good time to do a service on your mower make sure you blades are sharp ready for you first high grass cut in the spring
if you have any trees in your garden collect up the leaves put them in a bag they will rot down
if your having a fire make sure that there is no hedgehogs getting there head down for the winter
