Well done this man
It’s three-mendous news! The appeal launched by inspirational Staffordshire teenager Stephen Sutton in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust has crashed through the £3milion barrier.
Donations have continued to pour into his appeal fund following more than a week of worldwide acclaim for the cancer-stricken Burntwood student, who initially set out to top just £10,000 from a bucket list of fund-raising activities.
Messages of support have been received by Stephen from well-wishers from as far away as India, while A-List celebrities like Russell Brand and Stephen Fry have backed his fund-raising efforts with music mogul Simon Cowell also promising to make a “significant donation.”
After Stephen posted last week on Facebook that he feared the end was near, his condition has rallied and he said this weekend he was “feeling fantastic.”
He even joked about a “bizarre but fortunate twist in the tale” after coughing up a tumour.

two lives lost
A 15-year-old boy remains in custody following the fatal stabbing of a much-loved teacher in her classroom.
Spanish teacher Anne Maguire, 61, was repeatedly stabbed in front of pupils at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds yesterday morning.
The school is expected to open as normal today.
Mrs Maguire's death, after more than 40 years teaching at the school, is thought to be the first time a teacher has been stabbed to death in a British classroom, and the first killing of a teacher in a school since the 1996 Dunblane massacre.

Nigel Farage could win a seat at Westminster within weeks after a disgraced Conservative backbencher quit the Commons and forced an unexpected by-election.
In a significant blow to the Tories, Patrick Mercer stepped down as MP for Newark on Tuesday night, only days before he was due to be suspended from Parliament for six months.
His decision comes after a joint investigation by The Telegraph and the BBC’s Panorama programme disclosed that Mr Mercer had tabled a series of parliamentary questions and put down a motion after accepting £4,000 from undercover reporters.
David Cameron now faces the prospect of Mr Farage, the UK Independence Party leader, mounting a serious challenge in what was one of the Conservatives’ safest seats, with a 16,000 majority.

KIDS ON BOOZ AND DRUGS Children as young as four are being treated for drug and booze addiction, shock figures reveal today. Hundreds of youngsters are referred each year, according to a survey of every local council in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. And more than half the under 13s who needed help were treated for cannabis problems. Andrew Brown, director of programmes at charity Mentor UK, admitted he was shocked by the findings. He said: “We think it is vital that alcohol and drug education improves. "Our own survey of teachers suggests that at the moment delivery is inconsistent, and that the norm is to timetable only one or two sessions a year. “This may sound sufficient, but evidence would suggest that longer programmes that systematically build skills and values are much more likely to prevent young people from coming to harm than one-off lessons.” Experts say the most common cause of children coming into contact with drugs and alcohol is through their parents. A referral can mean the child is vulnerable to drug and alcohol misuse through exposure from a parent or other relative, or could have started abusing substances themselves. Now charity bosses are calling for an urgent shake-up in drug education in both primary and secondary schools. www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/children-young-four-addicted-drugs-3476485#ixzz30M4D8HMx Follow us: @dailymirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook

should this family be left homeless A family of four are living out of their car after they were refused emergency accommodation. Desperate Sabrina McMahon, 36, has begged for help as she has been left stranded with her three kids in her car for more than a week. She says she has been begging for a home in Dublin but was told she’d have to go to Kildare County Council for refuge – which was her last permanent address. Sabrina’s previous home in Athy was ransacked by thugs two years ago and she no longer felt safe in the area. She then moved back to Tallaght, where she is originally from, and has since been trying to raise her family on her own. The desperate woman has been left needing to call to friends to make up bottles for her 18-month-old baby Chelsea as well as use their baths to wash her other two kids, Karl, five, and three year old Michaela. Sabrina said she was left with no choice but to sleep in her car, a Vauxhall Vectra. The mum added: “It was the last resort. It’s come to the point where I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. “The kids don’t know if they’re coming and going. The younger ones don’t really understand what’s going on. www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/were-homeless-live-car-family-3455765#ixzz30MDJrAOh Follow us: @dailymirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook
